Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you submit information through a search feature on this site, the query is handled by the outside provider operating that feature. We do not maintain a separate log of the search text you enter through our site.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message and the information supplied with it so that we can respond or administer the site. We do not disclose that message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most websites, our servers may receive limited technical information when a page is requested:
- The IP address used to reach the site
- Your browser, operating system, and device type
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is provided
- The date and time of each request
- Basic diagnostic information used to keep the site working
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that can help measure page use and site performance. We and analytics services may use them to understand aggregate traffic patterns. You can control cookies through browser settings, although blocking them may affect how some features operate.
What We Do With This Data
We use the limited information described above to operate and improve this reference site. That includes:
- Delivering pages and maintaining site performance
- Routing a submitted query to the applicable outside service
- Understanding aggregate page use
- Diagnosing security and technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be interest based
No Court-Record Data on File
Gallia County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It offers general routing information for the offices that keep those records: the Gallia County Clerk of Courts - Legal Division for Common Pleas General and Domestic Relations matters, and the Gallipolis Municipal Court for its countywide municipal docket. Gallianet eAccess and CaseLook are separate court-linked local paths, not a single Ohio trial-court database. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Features supplied by outside search providers are governed by the provider's own privacy terms and practices. We do not control what a provider retains, shares, charges for, or returns. Review the provider's policy before entering information into one of those features.
Links to Other Websites
Our pages link to official court and clerk resources, including the Gallianet eAccess route for Common Pleas cases and CaseLook for Gallipolis Municipal Court records and calendars. A link takes you to a separate website whose privacy practices control there. Read that website's policy before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites or select advertising. That activity is governed by the partner's policies.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to the following limited categories when needed:
- Providers that process a search feature you choose to use
- Analytics vendors that help measure performance
- Advertising networks serving ads on the site
- Service providers supporting our website operations
- Government authorities when a valid legal requirement compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards for information we collect. Internet transmission and storage cannot be made completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that an unauthorized access event will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adult visitors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that such information was provided to us, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or limits on processing for personal information we hold, subject to applicable law and verification. Ohio's Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, concerns public-office records. Access to Ohio court case records is chiefly governed by the Ohio Rules of Superintendence 44-47; neither authority turns this private website into the keeper of a Gallia court file.
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion where applicable
- Ask about available choices for certain processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as the site or its practices change. Any revision will appear on this page with an updated effective date, so visitors who want current information should review this page periodically.
